- Old Town experience
An electrician in Dubrovnik installs, repairs and tests the electrical systems of homes, rental apartments and venues in the city and its districts. Electro Access covers power installations and distribution boards, fault finding, network and TV cabling, CCTV and keyless access, and carries out facade and roof work by rope access, which matters in the Old Town, where narrow streets leave little room for scaffolding. Work is quoted in writing after a description or a site visit.
Your electrician in Dubrovnik, from the distribution board to the facade
Electro Access is an electrician in Dubrovnik for homes, holiday rentals, bars, restaurants and offices: power installations and distribution boards, fault finding and repairs, network and TV cabling, CCTV, keyless access control, and facade and roof work by rope access. Describe the job by message, phone or the quote form and you receive a written quote.

What does an electrician in Dubrovnik do for you?
Six lines of work cover most of what a building needs: power installations and distribution boards, fault finding and repairs, structured network and TV cabling, CCTV, access control, and work at height by rope access. Each is described below with what it includes, and one quote can combine several of them for the same property.
- Power installations Distribution boards, circuits, sockets and lighting
- Fault finding and repair Diagnosis by measurement, repairs and rewiring
- Data, network and TV cabling Structured cabling, racks, Wi-Fi and SAT/TV
- CCTV Cameras, recording and remote viewing
- Access control Keyless entry by card, code or phone
- Rope access and work at height Facades, roofs and hard-to-reach places without scaffolding
Power installations and distribution boards
Power installations carry mains electricity through a building: the distribution board with its circuit breakers, the cables in the walls, the sockets, switches and lighting. We build and label boards, wire new and renovated flats, houses and venues, add residual current devices and surge protection, and fit main switches and busbars where a venue needs a higher-power connection.

An installation is only as good as its distribution board (razvodni ormar). That is why every board we build is laid out so it can be read at a glance, with a label on every circuit. Power installations are needed when a flat, house or venue is built or renovated, and when the existing installation no longer matches the load, for example after new air-conditioning units or a professional kitchen.
Fault finding and electrical repairs
When a circuit breaker keeps tripping, part of the property has no power, a light flickers or a socket gets warm, we find the cause. Measurements show where the fault is, and we repair the cause itself. Fault calls are taken in working hours (07:00–16:00); on the call we tell you when we can come.

The aim is not only to get the power back but to remove the cause, so that the same fault does not happen again.
Network cabling, racks, Wi-Fi and satellite TV
Low-voltage installations carry data and signal rather than mains power: network cables and sockets for the internet, Wi-Fi access points, and television and satellite reception. A properly cabled network, labelled at both ends, gives stable internet and television in every room, which you notice most in a thick-walled stone house where Wi-Fi alone struggles.

Every cable has its place and its label, at the socket and in the cabinet. That is what keeps a network easy to maintain years later, when a new television arrives or an access point needs moving.
CCTV for homes, rentals and venues
A CCTV system records the entrance, the yard, the venue or the building and stores the footage on a recorder on site. You can watch live and review recordings on your phone wherever you are. We install indoor and outdoor IP cameras, recorders and network storage, protected remote access and a UPS that covers short power cuts.

Cameras are positioned according to what the property actually needs, and the recorder and its storage are sized for the retention period you want.
Keyless entry and access control
Access control replaces the key with a card, a code or a phone. A lost card is cancelled in the system instead of changing the lock, and the entry log shows who came in and when. We fit card readers and keypads, electric strikes and locks, set each user's doors and times, and link the system with CCTV.
The system is tailored to the building, from a single entrance door to several entrances, offices and plant rooms.
Work at height by rope access
On facades, roofs and hard-to-reach places we work suspended on ropes, with protective equipment and without erecting scaffolding, so jobs can be done even in the narrowest streets of the Old Town. Rope access is done with two independent rope systems, a working line and a safety line, so that one line always secures the other.

Rope access joins two trades: electrical installation and safe access to places that are hard to reach. A light or a camera mounted from the rope is also connected to the installation by the same team.
Electrical work inside the Old Town
Work in the stone buildings and narrow streets of the Old Town needs its own approach and care for the building. Cable routes are agreed with the building in mind, facades and roofs are reached from ropes instead of scaffolding, and any approval the job needs, from the conservation department or the co-owners, is planned in from the start.

Where we work, from the Old Town to Mokošica
We work across the City of Dubrovnik: the Old Town, Pile and Ploče, Lapad and Babin Kuk, Gruž, Montovjerna, Mokošica and Nova Mokošica, and Rijeka dubrovačka. Župa dubrovačka, Cavtat and Konavle, and the Elaphiti islands are covered on request: tell us where the property is, and we agree whether and when we can come.
In the city
- Old Town The walled historic core: stone buildings and narrow streets, exterior work only with conservation approval, facades and roofs by rope access.
- Pile Just outside the walls, inside the World Heritage area since 1994.
- Ploče Outside the walls, in the World Heritage buffer zone as enlarged in 2018.
- Lapad Flats, houses and holiday rentals.
- Babin Kuk Flats, houses and holiday rentals.
- Gruž The port district, where the ferries to the Elaphiti islands leave; in the World Heritage buffer zone.

How a job runs, from message to handover
A job runs in five steps. You get in touch with a short description and the location, we look at the property where needed, and you receive a written quote based on the real scope. The work is then carried out with labelled circuits and cables, and at the handover we explain what was done and how to use it.
What to put in your first message
- What needs doing: for example a new distribution board, a fault, a new installation, cameras or work on a facade.
- Where the property is: the address or the district, and whether it is a flat, a house, a venue or a building in the Old Town.
- A photo, if you have one: a picture of the board, the fault or the place of work makes the quote easier.
We reply on the same working day for messages received before 16:00, and a message can be sent at any time.
How we price electrical work
Every job is quoted in writing after a description or a site visit, because every space and every installation is different. The quote lists the labour and the materials for the work you asked for, and the work starts once you accept it. We do not publish a price list, and the payment terms are stated on the quote.
Prices follow the scope of the work. Two jobs that sound alike, such as replacing the distribution board in two flats, can differ a great deal once the state of the circuits behind each board is known, which is why the quote comes after the description or the visit rather than before it.
A quote comes back sooner when the first message says what needs doing and where the property is, with a photo of the board or the place of work. How a job runs lists what to include; the quote form asks for the description and the location, and photos can follow on WhatsApp.
When to book electrical work
Book planned work as early as you can: renovations and new installations in rentals and venues are easiest before the season, while the property is empty. Faults do not wait for the calendar, so report them when they appear, and plan facade work in the Old Town for spring or autumn, outside the summer pause on exterior works.
The year in the city has a rhythm, and electrical work goes more smoothly when it follows it.
The earlier you describe the job, the easier it is to fit the visit and the work around your guests or your opening hours.
Reference venues
Our references include bars and restaurants in the Old Town, and among the jobs is the rewiring of an older installation. Each venue is named on this page only once it has agreed to be, with one line on the work done there; until then, the photos from the field show the work itself.
A labelled board, tidy cable routes and a handover that explains what was done are the same on every job, large or small. Photos from our jobs are under from the field, and what clients write in their own words is on Google, linked from reviews.
One room, before and after

The same room twice: first mid-renovation, with the cable trays up and the distribution board open, then finished, with white walls, a tidy board, a camera and a card reader. Power, network cabling, CCTV and access control in one room, by one contractor.
From the field
These are photographs of our own work, not catalogue images: distribution boards and junction boxes, network and CCTV cabinets, and rope access on palace facades and above the rooftops of the Old Town.
What clients say about the work
Clients rate Electro Access on Google after real jobs in the city. We do not copy, edit or choose the reviews: the badge below links to the Google profile, where each review is shown in full, as its author wrote it. If something about a job could have been better, tell us directly, so that we can put it right.
How reviews reach Google, and why none are quoted on this site, is explained on the reviews page. To tell us about a job, write to elektroaccess8@gmail.com or send a WhatsApp message to +385 95 506 8145.
Who you are dealing with
Electro Access started in Dubrovnik in 2024 and is based in Nova Mokošica, in the north-west of the city. It offers power and low-voltage installations, urgent call-outs for electrical faults and rope-access work at height, plus fault finding, CCTV and access control. Use the details below for quotes, site visits and anything else about a job.

The name is no accident: besides standard electrical installation, the team works by rope access, so jobs can be done where scaffolding or a platform cannot reach. The team’s background is in electrical installation across homes, venues and offices in the city. Four things hold for every job, whatever its size:

Frequently asked questions
Short answers to common questions about electrical work in the city: power and low-voltage installations, distribution boards, faults and tripping RCDs, network cabling, cameras and recordings, keyless entry, rope access and facade permits, the HEP connection, quotes and prices, the area we cover and our working hours. Open a question to read its answer.
Do you do both power and low-voltage work?
Yes. We carry out power installations (elektroinstalacije jake struje) as well as network, Wi-Fi and satellite TV cabling, CCTV and access control, the low-voltage side (elektroinstalacije slabe struje), so one contractor can handle the whole building. Power and low-voltage cables can share the same routes, which is why it helps to plan them together: describe everything the property needs in one message and you receive one quote.
Do you work for bars, restaurants and other businesses?
Yes. Besides flats and houses, we carry out installations for bars, restaurants and commercial premises, including bars and restaurants in the Old Town. A venue can combine several lines of work in one job: a main distribution board with the power the kitchen and the air-conditioning need, network cabling, cameras and access control on staff doors. Ask for them together and they are quoted together.
Can only the distribution board be replaced?
Yes. The old distribution board is replaced with a new one, the existing circuits are checked and the right protection is fitted, including residual current devices. If the check shows that the installation itself is worn out, we tell you and propose rewiring it as well, so that you can decide with the full picture. Every circuit on the new board is labelled.
Why rope access instead of scaffolding?
Because no scaffolding or access platform has to be put up. In the narrow streets of the Old Town, scaffolding takes time, needs a permit to occupy the public space and closes the passage for everyone. From ropes, the same work can be done in streets, inner courtyards and light-wells where scaffolding cannot reach, and the street stays open.
How long does an electrical installation in a flat take?
It depends on the size of the flat, the state of the walls and the scope of the work, so there is no single answer. After a site visit you receive an estimate of the duration together with the written quote. If the flat is let, tell us the dates when it is free, so that the estimate can take them into account.
Why does my RCD keep tripping?
A residual current device (zaštitna strujna sklopka, or FID, in Croatian) switches off when it detects current leaking away, most often because of a faulty appliance, damp in the installation or damaged insulation. The cause is found by measurement, checking the circuits and the appliances one by one. Do not force it back on or bypass it: it is there to protect people from electric shock.
Is it better to repair or replace an old installation?
It depends on the condition of the installation. A single fault on an installation that is otherwise sound is worth repairing. An old installation that is worn out and has no residual current device is safer to rewire, partly or fully, and in the long run that is also the better investment. Measurements on the circuits show which case you are in.
Why a cabled network and not just Wi-Fi?
A cabled connection is more stable and faster than a wireless one. Access points connected by cable also give better Wi-Fi coverage than a single router trying to cover the whole building, which matters in houses with thick stone walls. A television, a camera recorder or a work computer can use a network socket, leaving the Wi-Fi for phones and laptops.
Can cabling be added to an existing building?
As a rule, yes. The cable routes are adapted to the building, and in old stone buildings the route is agreed according to what the walls, floors and ceilings allow and how the result should look. Every cable is labelled at both ends, at the socket and in the network cabinet, so the network stays easy to trace and extend later.
Can I watch the cameras on my phone?
Yes. Current CCTV systems let you watch live and play back recordings in a mobile app, wherever you are, with access protected by a password. Access to the footage should stay with the people who need it: Croatian rules require the system to be protected from unauthorised access and to keep a log of who viewed the recordings and when.
How long are recordings kept?
That depends on the storage capacity, the number of cameras and the recording quality, and the system is sized for the retention period you need. Croatian law sets a ceiling: recordings may be kept for at most six months, unless another law requires longer or they are evidence in proceedings. The data protection agency, AZOP, advises a shorter period wherever the purpose allows.
What happens to an access-controlled door in a power cut?
The system can be built with backup power, so that it keeps working through a power cut. Whether a door stays locked or unlocks when the power goes is decided when the system is planned, according to what the door is for and the safety requirements of the building: a door on an escape route is not treated like the door of a storeroom.
Is access control suitable for rental apartments?
Yes. Depending on the system, each guest receives a card or a code that works only for the dates of their stay, so there is no handing over and returning of keys, and no lock to change when a key goes missing. The entry log shows when each card or code was used, and the system can be linked with a camera at the entrance.
Can one card open several doors?
Yes. For each user the system sets which doors they may open and at what times, so one card or code can open the building entrance, a flat and a storeroom, while another opens only the entrance. A card that is lost or not returned is cancelled in the system, and every other card keeps working.
Is rope access safe?
Rope access is done with two independent rope systems, a working line and a safety line, and with equipment for work at height, so that one line always secures the other. Croatian occupational-safety rules allow rope access where a risk assessment shows the work can be done safely, and they require the same principle: at least two ropes, a working rope and a safety rope.
Do facade works need permits?
It depends on the type of work and the location. For a building in the protected historic core, the City's rules require the prior approval of the conservation department for any work on the exterior, and facade works there are not allowed from 15 June to 15 September. Work on the common parts of any building also needs the consent of the co-owners or the building manager.
How do I get a quote?
Send a WhatsApp message or call +385 95 506 8145 with a short description of the job and where the property is, or use the quote form on this site. A photo of the board, the fault or the place of work helps. Where needed, we come to see the property, and then you receive the quote in writing.
What does the work cost?
Prices follow the scope of the work, because every space and every installation is different, so we do not publish a price list. After a description of the job or a site visit you receive a written quote that lists the labour and the materials, and the payment terms are stated on the quote.
Which area do you cover?
We work across the City of Dubrovnik, from the Old Town, Pile and Ploče to Lapad, Babin Kuk, Gruž, Montovjerna, Mokošica and Rijeka dubrovačka, in flats, houses, venues and offices, the buildings inside the Old Town walls included. For Župa dubrovačka, Cavtat and Konavle or the Elaphiti islands, get in touch and we agree whether and when we can come.
What are your hours?
Our working hours are 07:00–16:00. A WhatsApp message or an email can be sent at any time, and we reply in working hours. Fault calls are taken in the same hours, and on the call we tell you when we can come. Site visits and meetings are arranged by message or phone.
How do I increase the power of my HEP connection?
The connection belongs to HEP ODS, the electricity distribution operator, whose Dubrovnik unit is Elektrojug. The owner of the property, or someone with the owner's power of attorney, asks HEP ODS for an electricity consent (EES) for the higher power, preferably online through its Moja mreža application. If the installation is altered for the new power, a certificate that it is fit for use (potvrda o uporabljivosti) goes with the request. We prepare the installation and the board on your side of the meter.
Does a new installation need a test record?
Yes. Croatian technical rules make a final inspection and test of every new electrical installation compulsory, carried out with measuring instruments, and a record of it (zapisnik) must be kept; the building owner keeps the inspection documents permanently. HEP ODS also asks for a certificate that the installation is fit for use (potvrda o uporabljivosti) when a new connection is made. Ask about these documents when you request the quote.
Is it a power cut or a fault in my installation?
If the neighbours have no power either, or the street lights are out after dark, it is a power cut on the distribution network, which HEP ODS (Elektrojug in Dubrovnik) is responsible for; planned interruptions are announced in advance on its Bez struje (No power) page, by street and time. If only your property is off, check the main switch and the residual current devices (RCDs) on your board, and if the power does not come back, call +385 95 506 8145.
Do you take urgent call-outs for electrical faults?
Yes. For an urgent electrical fault, call +385 95 506 8145. Fault calls are taken in working hours, 07:00–16:00, Monday to Friday, and you are told on the call when the electrician can come: it depends on the jobs already booked and on where the property is. A clear description, and a photo of the board if you can take one, helps to judge how urgent it is. If you smell burning or see sparking, switch off the main switch first.
